New Trail Brewing Co. kicks off production of Wilds Are Calling Hazy IPA with 16 collaborators

On April 18, brewers from across the Pennsylvania Wilds gathered at New Trail Brewing Company in Williamsport to celebrate the kickoff of production for The Wilds Are Calling Hazy IPA.

New Trail had been inspired to produce a collaborative brew that both salutes the Wilds region and invites others to experience it. Collaborating on this project are 16 additional breweries from the 13-county region.

While at New Trail, the brewers were given a tour of the facility and enjoyed tasting drinks from each other’s companies. The New Trail team also pushed the official button to begin the “mash” process of the brew cycle, and invited the collaborators onto the catwalk to observe the process and take a ceremonial photo.

This project was a collaboration across the PA Wilds with the brewers who call this region home. Each can of beer represents a 16-ounce postcard, a liquid invitation to spend some time in the PA Wilds, enjoy all that nature has to offer, visit some breweries and other independent businesses, and find a new favorite destination.

Breweries collaborating with New Trail include: Bald Birds Brewing Co. of Jersey Shore, Bent Run Brewing Co. of Warren, Boom City Brewing Co. of Williamsport, Boxcar Brew Works of DuBois, Bradford Brew Station of Bradford, Bullfrog Brewery of Williamsport, Clarion River Brewing Company of Clarion, Floating Feathers Brewing Co. of Mill Hall, John Ryan Brewery of Williamsport, Lost In The Wilds Brewing of Shippenville, Mechanistic Brewing Co. of Clarion, Riepstine’s Pub & Brewery of Williamsport, Robinhood Brewing Co. of Bellefonte, Rosko’s Brew House of Williamsport, Therapy Brewing of Montoursville, Wicked Warren’s of Warren, and Yorkholo Brewing Co. of Mansfield.

The beer will be available on draft and in cans at all of the collaborating breweries in May 2023. The breweries will also be invited back to New Trail once the brewing process is completed, allowing all the collaborators to celebrate the beer and taste the finished product.

There will also be some distribution across The PA Wilds region more broadly. A portion of sales will support the PA Wilds mission to marry conservation and economic development in a way that strengthens and inspires the region’s communities.
