Pennsylvania Lumber Heritage Region Announces New Website

The Lumber Heritage Region (LHR) is excited to announce the launch of a new website. LumberHeritage.org is intended to serve as a hub and spoke for all aspects of the lumber industry in our 15-county LHR region.

This new website is packed with information about North Central Pennsylvania’s lumber industry. If you love history, click on the Past and see an array of photos that show the danger and beauty of what it meant to be a wood hick way back when. The Present section will allow you to see how far lumbering has come and the new technology being used today. Finally, if you are interested in what’s ahead for the industry, click on the Future tab for a glimpse of what is to come.

LHR’s new website was designed to allow historians to explore the past, job seekers to find employment in the industry and potential partners to find a home to share news and success stories. Visitors will also find an array of interesting articles and a list of events occurring throughout the region.

If you are looking for a unique gift for someone, check out the LHR Shop section. The Wood Hicks and Bark Peelers book is a fascinating look at the industry through photographs taken by William T. Clarke. Every purchase you make helps the Lumber Heritage Region continue to preserve our rich history and help move the industry forward into the future.

We are proud of our heritage and want to share your stories. Send us information and photos about your connection to the lumber industry. You may be surprised to find it listed on our new website the next time you visit! Email your suggestions to [email protected] or send a post to their Facebook page @lumberheritageregion
