PA Wilds Center Seeks Sustainable Commerce Director

The PA Wilds Center for Entrepreneurship, Inc. (PA Wilds Center), is seeking a qualified Sustainable Commerce Director (SCD). The SCD will report to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and will have significant internal and external roles. Work will include overseeing the Center’s commerce platform, which includes the PA Wilds Conservation Shops and ShopthePAwilds.com; overseeing staff, contractors, and special projects as assigned; managing partnerships; and participating in an organization-wide effort to expand market opportunities for members of the Wilds Cooperative of PA (WCO).

This is a unique opportunity for a talented leader and manager with proven experience. The SCD will work closely with the COO and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Director (EED), and will also be an independent driver of specific program areas with a keen command of the details. The role requires exceptional emotional intelligence to motivate, manage and work well with the many people involved in the regional effort to establish the PA Wilds as a premier outdoor recreation destination to help revitalize rural communities.

As a prerequisite, the successful candidate must believe in the core values of the Center and be driven by the nonprofit’s mission. The candidate should demonstrate a passion for breaking new ground to lead social change. Beyond that, the SCD must have proven experience in scaling a multi-site organization and a demonstrated ability to both lead and build the capabilities of a driven, bright, diverse team.

Interviews would begin in December, with an ideal start in early January 2022. This timeline could shift depending on funding.
